QAD Foundation

Women, youth & enterprise

Skills should expand who can participate.

Practical capability matters when it leads to occupations, livelihoods and enterprises with room to grow.

Practical skills. Real pathways. Stronger rural economies.

Economic participation

Designing access from training to paid work.

The Foundation intends to make technical roles more accessible to young people and women. That means addressing recruitment, suitable equipment and personal protective equipment, safeguarding, transport, mentorship, workplace culture and the transition into paid work.

Women in technical agriculture

Open the full range of technical roles.

The intended pathways include machinery operation, maintenance, irrigation, diagnostics and agro-processing. Programme design must account for the conditions that help people enter, complete and progress in these occupations.

Rural enterprise

Technical services can serve many farms.

Mechanisation services

Equipment operation and service contracting.

Mobile repair

Field diagnostics and preventive maintenance.

Irrigation support

Installation and system maintenance.

Post-harvest services

Drying, handling, storage and processing support.

The Foundation is exploring these service areas as potential enterprise pathways for future graduates.
